A couple of months ago we posited a question about the future of electrification for Toyota this year, and we’ve received our first answer this month as Toyota unveiled its newest concept vehicle, the bZ4X Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV). The bZ4X is just the beginning of the brand’s next big step towards electrification, as they intend to make Toyota bZ a new brand umbrella, similar perhaps to TRD. While we know very little at this point, we thought we’d touch on the few specs & features we know about the concept today.

One of our favorite events to follow year after year is the SEMA Event. Toyota always shows up in force with all sorts of fun takes on their vehicles and what’s capable with them in the aftermarket. After nearly 20 years sitting out of the performance coupe segment of the automotive industry, Toyota looks like its ready to get back in the game in a major way. Top automotive website Autoblog has produced some photos of a potential Toyota Supra prototype or test mule in the wild. Fans of the famous high-performance Toyota coupe have been clamoring for the car to return since it was discontinued in the late 1990s. Film fans may remember the Toyota Supra as the car that Paul Walker rebuilt (and destroyed) in the first Fast and Furious movie. New satellite technology opens endless possibilities

Toyota is laying all of its new technology cards on the table for everyone to see. The automaker spent a bulk of its time at last week’s Consumer Electronic Show touting its plans to revolutionize how drivers, vehicles and the surrounding environment interact with one another. At the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Toyota announced another portion of this effort. Using the hydrogen fuel cell-powered Toyota Mirai as a test bed, Toyota, and Kymeta, a U.S.-based technology company, are displaying the latest efforts the partnership has produced in inter-vehicle connectivity using flat-panel antennas for satellite communications.
