The Toyota C-HR is one of the youngest utility vehicles on the brand’s lineup. While it might not have the pedigree or attention of icons like the RAV4 or Highlander, the 2021 Toyota C-HR is an incredible option for those car shoppers looking for the benefits that come with driving a Toyota utility vehicle but don’t want to completely move away from a vehicle the size of a sedan. As the brand’s entry-level crossover, it’s a subcompact vehicle that doesn’t sacrifice as much of the maneuverability or other benefits of driving a sedan but adds plenty of extra cargo space and other SUV benefits to what it has to offer to customers here in Lima OH.
Although the Toyota C-HR just joined the lineup in 2018, Toyota has consistently enhanced it year after year to continue improving what the subcompact crossover has to offer. This year is no different, with a host of updates and additions that we’re pretty excited about. Perhaps the biggest and most exciting announcement regarding the C-HR for the 2021 model year is the addition of its very own Nightshade Edition, bringing it in line with many of the other vehicles available on the lineup.
Another exciting update is the overhaul of its available exterior color options. Toyota has added Oxide Bronze, Oxide Bronze with Black Roof, as well as Magnetic Gray metallic with Black Roof to the lineup, while taking away Knockout Silver Metallic and Hot Lava. In addition, the Supersonic Red and Blue Eclipse Metallic options are now only available on the XLE and Limited trim levels.
Finally, the upgraded Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 package is now standard across the board in the 2021 Toyota C-HR. This includes Automatic High Beams, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Lane Tracing Assist, Road Sign Assist, Sway Warning System and the most advanced Pre-collision System with Pedestrian Detection yet. The latter has been enhanced to provide daytime bicyclist detection, low-light pedestrian detection, emergency steering assist and intersection support.
