While the Toyota Tundra is getting a complete generational redesign for the 2022 model year, the Tacoma didn’t want to feel left out. So, while it’s remaining largely unchanged as we head into the new model year, the 2022 Toyota Tacoma will not be without its own exciting additions here in Lima OH. These changes come in the form of several upgrades to the Tacoma TRD Pro series and the addition of a new Trail Edition 4x4 trim level to the Tacoma family. We’re excited for both of these updated models to be available here in Lima, along with the entire 2022 Tacoma lineup.
The TRD Pro Series Tacoma has been around for quite some time, but this year Toyota is taking things up to the next level through several upgrades and enhancements. It will be offered with a host of new features and changes, including a 1” suspension lift, new upper control arms, a new set of black TRD wheels wrapped in equally new Goodyear Territory all-terrain tires, among other performance upgrades. Design doesn’t go untouched, with a host of new design cues and other subtle changes, like newly available hood graphics and this year’s exclusive TRD Pro exterior color option: Electric Lime Metallic.
However, there will also be a brand-new off-road-ready trim level in the form of the Trail Edition 4x4. This new trim level offers several off-road features sure to level up your adventures throughout the 2022 model year and beyond, including a 1.1” suspension lift and the front and a ½” lift in the back. Other great improvements include the addition of lockable bed storage which can double as a cooler, bronze-finished 16” wheels wrapped in Goodyear tires, a Heritage-inspired grille with bronze-finished lettering, and the new Lunar Rock exterior color option.
You’ll have a ton of different options to choose from in 2022 where the Toyota Tacoma is concerned, with a host of different trim levels and configurations to choose from.
