2022 Toyota Sienna’s Powertrain Specs

The 2022 Toyota Sienna is powered by a hybrid 2.5-liter inline-four-cylinder engine that is mated to two permanent magnet synchronous electric motors combining to produce 245 net horsepower. The engine is mated to an electronically controlled continuously variable automatic transmission (ECVT). The power is sent to the front wheels through the standard Front-wheel Drive System (FWD). Other than that, the Sienna also offers an Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system for the Woodland Edition trim, and an Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system for the higher trims. While all the trims come with a hybrid powertrain, the electric motors offered vary based on the trim you opt for. The base trim’s powertrain comes with two Permanent magnet synchronous electric motors placed in the front. On the other hand, higher trims like the XSE trim gets three motors (two placed in the front and one in the rear).
